Biographies

Spa Asset Management’s partners are Brian Sherlock and Alan Huddart. Both have a wealth of business experience across several sectors but have particular expertise in the construction equipment rental field.

Brian Sherlock is an experienced Managing Director, with a track record of leading multi sited, European businesses of up to £300m turnover and 3,500 employees through major transformation. He has extensive experience of driving substantial acquisitions, divestments and system integrations.

Brian Sherlock was Managing Director of Hewden Stuart plc having previously been the Director of Operations and Managing Director, Hewden Hire Centres. Prior to this Brian was Managing Director of RGIS, a US inventory corporation and was responsible for its UK Company reorganization. Also as Geschaftsführer he established the European Operations from a base in Germany.

Brian also had a varied career with Marks & Spencer plc spanning several years in roles such as Regional/Store Operations, Y2K Project Management, Manager of Group Internal Audit, Supply Chain/Procurement and Strategic Planning.

Brian is a Chartered Director and Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

Alan Huddart is an experienced operations manager within a multi site environment and has had full P & L responsibility for group businesses with turnover up to £30m and 300 employees. In support roles he also has product management experience being responsible for capital budgets of up to £85m and has managed significant technical and logistics functions.

Alan has held several senior management positions in Hewden Plc, the UK’s largest equipment rental company. These included General Manager, North Region, General Manager of Product and Pricing, Head of Technical Services and Operations Director for Hewden Instant Access. Alan has previously worked in sales roles for Vp, and in the retail management arena with Norweb.

Alan is a member of the Chartered Management Institute.
